Facebook Apps Secrets – Newbie Make Money with Facebook Apps (No Programming Required)

Facebook is huge today with more and more people making millions from it. With more than 800 million users, it’s very hard not to make money from it. If you haven’t realized it, Facebook apps are a huge opportunity for you to tap into.

Here’s recent news from Forbes.com. It claims that the owner of Zynga is worth USD 20 billion right now. For your info, Zynga is the company that creates the famous Farmville and Cityville with millions of users. Now before you go thinking about creating something like that, stop. It’s probably not going to happen but this is what you can see from Zynga: games are apps!

Generally, Facebook users use Facebook for social networking and “playing” apps. The good news is, even if you have no programming skill, you can still hire a programmer to churn out a simple app easily. It could just cost you around $100-$200 to get it developed.

What kind of simple app can you create?

You can just create a simple Facebook app that has a viral effect to be shared and let people to pass it around on Facebook. There are millions of people every day that use Facebook  and the trick is to reach these Facebook users with your app.
The trick of reaching Facebook users is to have viral features to get them to “Like,” posting to wall, and also to invite user’s friends to use your app. Regardless of how simple your app is, you can still make your app go viral with just these features in your app.

Here’s the best part of a Facebook app. Even if a user is not using any of the viral features above, your app will still show up in the user’s recent activity on their timeline/wall post. It is literally getting free advertisement without you paying any advertisement fees. Of course, your app must be interesting enough to get people to click into it.

The trick of using interesting name for your app to go viral

Every app has its own name. The name for your app should be interesting enough. Unlike Farmville and Cityville that have buillt a strong brand, your simple app should be named as something that can be related to many people. For example: Fortune Cookie, Daily Horoscope, and What Games Should I Play? Or What Music Should I Listen To?, etc.

The purpose of your simple app is to get users to get interested in your app’s name first, and then click into your app to see what is in your app. Most of the time, users will like what they see in your app because in the first place, your app’s name is what interests and relates to them. Of course, the function in your app must be related to your app’s name.

By just using an interesting name, you won’t have to invest thousands of dollars to build a brand that makes your app go viral.

Where can you hire a programmer?

You can go to freelancer.com or elance.com to post a job to hire a programmer. Keep in mind that if you were to hire a programmer, it is important that you look at the programmer’s past projects with good ratings. When you are working with a programmer, make sure that you explain the details for the development of your app consistently. Explain to the programmer as specifically as possible as to what you want to have in your app.

As you can see, there are many opportunities available to create simple apps. I hope this simple Facebook app idea will help you to get started profitably.

How to Reset/Bypass Windows Administrator Password

What if you forgot your Windows Login password. Coincidentally, you are the only administrator and has no way to recall what the password is. The common way is to reformatting your computer and make it just like a newly installed OS. That could be challenging for some novice users and with essential files and data stored inside the PC, that just not the best solution.

Forgot passwordThe other way to get around this problem is by using the boot disk. Here is the steps on how it works:

  1. Get the machine to boot from the CD or USB drive.
  2. Floppy version need to swap floppy to load drivers.
  3. Load drivers (usually automatic, but possible to run manual select)
  4. Disk select, tell which disk contains the Windows system. Optionally you will have to load drivers.
  5. PATH select, where on the disk is the system?
  6. File select, which parts of registry to load, based on what you want to do.
  7. Password reset or other registry edit.
  8. Write back to disk (you will be asked)

Before you start the above steps, you need to get the boot disk ready. You need another PC to make the bootdisk. First, download the drivers file (for bootdisk) from http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/. Click on the “boot disk” to download. You can either burn it into CD/USB/Floppy.

How to make an bootable USB drive

Copy all the files that is inside the usbXXXXXX.zip or on the CD onto an usb drive, directly on the drive, not inside any directory/folder.

  • It is OK if there are other files on the USB drive from before, they will not be removed.
  • Install bootloader on the USB drive, from command prompt in windows (start the command line with “run as administrator” if possible)
    • X:syslinux.exe -ma X:
  • Replace X: with the drive letter the USB drive shows up as (DO NOT USE C:)
  • If it seems like nothing happened, it is usually done.
  • However, a file named ldlinux.sys may appear on the USB drive, that is normal.http://www.bentiew.com/wp-admin/post-new.php
  • It should now in theory be bootable.
  • Please know that getting some computers to boot from USB is worse than from CD, you may have to change settings, or some will not simply work at all.

Go back to your locked PC, enter the CMOS screen – BIOS (by pressing F10/Delete). The button may be different depending on your PC manufacturer, if unsure check their website or call their technical support find out how to access the CMOS screen. You need to set to make it boot from the CD, Floppy or USB drive.

What is Alternator and Why It is Important

If you own a car, this is something that you might want to take note. At least, to equipped yourself with basic knowledge so that you are aware and be more careful the next time you are driving.

It’s about Alternator. This term is not new and ask any workshop or your next-door foreman, they can explain it to you from A – Z and the nitty-gritty details of  how it works. Well, the fact is the average joe and jane who are driving everyday doesn’t know what the heck is this :)

If you want to understand what alternator is all about, read this article http://www.misterfixit.com/alterntr.htm I think it’s great as it explains from the layman point of view (later part of the article may be more technical but it’s okay, just get a basic picture of what alternator is is good enough)

Car Alternator

Alternator is part of our vehicle electrical systems that powered our headlights, air-cond, and other car accessories that requires power to work. The last time when you saw a new car stranded by the roadside with no signs of accident or whatsoever, you might be thinking that this new car must have its battery failed. Anyway, that’s not always the case.  Battery failure is common and replacing a new one wouldn’t cost much (around RM180 – RM280 may be). You would be lucky if the car breakdown that was due to battery failure, in which replacing with a new battery is all it takes to get the car moving again.

However, if the breakdown was due to alternator you will have a big headache , not to mention the frustration that you will have to go through.  To provide you a big picture, alternator is the only device in your vehicle that generates power to the battery so that you got to enjoy icy-cool air-cond and give you a pleasant ride. It also responsible to power the spark plugs and most of the electrical systems of the vehicle. That’s how important the alternator. When alternator breaks down, battery could not sustain itself and thus stop working. The next thing you would realized is your car breakdown all of the sudden.

Preventive measures are therefore important to avoid this nightmare. I have compiled some article links which I think might be helpful :

Choosing The Right Credit Card (Part 1)

Credit Card Tips Which Credit Card is right for me ??

With so many credit cards promotion from various banks, which one should you choose. Before government introduces the RM50 service tax which apply to each credit card that you own, many used to keep up to 6-8 credit cards in their wallet! that’s scary at least for the average earners who may overspent unknowingly!!

Depending on your income level and affordability, having 1-3 cards is more than enough. In fact, for the average Malaysian who work a 9-5 job, 1-2 should be sufficient.

The question is, which bank offer the best deal ? Well, sometimes it is very tempting to apply just yet another card just because of the free gift offered. This strategy has been widely used and it seems to work for banks to lure more people to applying:)

I remember seeing a bank offering “Angry Bird” pillow just past few weeks. You see, “Angry Bird” is hot right now and it is a trend that people are following. You can see various merchandise for “Angry Bird”…from pillow, sandal, wallpaper, sunshade, backpack, and anything you can imagine. With that said, the bank is smart enough to incorporate all those new trend in their marketing strategy.

The tip to get the best deal when shopping for credit card is to survey and do a comparison. Write it down in paper and put it in table format to see which ones offer the best value. Don’t apply just to satisfy your desire.

Look out for the next post as I will share the card which I think worthwhile and  value for money . Well, before that, a little bit of disclaimer that I do not get paid  from Bank for sharing this. It is NOT a paid post or anything like that. I am just sharing something that works for me and hopefully it helps you too.
